Lake Lucerne region
is part of Central Switzerland and and consists of no less than 7 cantons (Lucerne, Obwalden, Nidwalden, Glarus, Schwyz, Uri and Zug).
Switzerland was formed in 1291 in this region by an alliance of cantons against the Habsburg dynasty and offers great culture and well known landmarks, such as the Chapel Bridge in Lucerne.
This region is also spoiled with many famous mountains, such as Pilatus, Rigi or Titlis each of them offering a fantastic mean of transportation to their peaks.
